During the winter and spring of 2007, AltruShare sponsored a Mentoring and Job-Training Program in its offices. Classes and lectures were held on Saturday’s at AltruShare’s offices in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
A New York Institute of Finance curriculum, Fundamentals of the Securities Industry, was taught by William Jannace, a Senior Special Counsel in Member Firm Regulation at the New York Stock Exchange. Bill is also a New York Institute of Finance faculty member who specializes in securities law, auditing and compliance.
In addition to the course work, the program featured a distinguished group of guest speakers from varied parts of the investment industry: Broker-Dealers, Investment Managers, Hedge Funds, Public and Private Pension Plan Sponsors.
At the conclusion of the program, all students were offered paid summer internships at top financial services firms. The combination of class-work, lectures, and practical work experience will help our students begin a career in the financial services industry.
AltruShare would like to thank the individuals and organizations who participated in our guest lecture series and the organizations that offered paid summer internships to our students:
